Welcome to Jubilate
We are a ladies choir who meet on Tuesday evenings, September to May, in Easingwold at 7.30pm.
If you would like to join us, then please contact us by email. New members are always welcome to visit and see what we do. You do not need to be able to read music.
Jubilate was founded in 1998, with 14 members, as a WI choir called Norbitu to take part in a WI competition under the musical direction of Christine Mitchell-Innes. The choir won the Federation round and went on to compete in the regional round of the NFWI Choir Festival.
We continued to meet and rehearse together and in 2000 the choir was opened to non-WI members and the name changed to Jubilate which means 'be joyful'.
Since 1998 we have increased to 27 members and currently our Musical Director is Amanda Crawley who has been with the choir since September 2006.
We perform concerts twice a year, in May and December, usually in the Easingwold area, singing a wide variety of music.
