On Tuesday  8th March, the Reverend Elizabeth Cushion was presented with a cheque by Jubilate Ladies Choir as a mark of thanks for the hospitality shown by the members of the Methodist Church to the choir in providing the venue for their concerts. The Reverend Elizabeth joined the choir for tea and cakes and stayed for the rehearsal which she enjoyed.

March 2014

A jubilant Jubilate was flushed with success on 28 March 2014 after competing in the Wensleydale Tournament of Song held in Leyburn.  Under our Musical Director, Amanda Crawley, and with piano accompaniment from Jo Marshall, the choir performed two pieces in the Ladies Choir category.

The first piece performed was the beautifully atmospheric May It Be from Lord of the Rings followed by the contrasting Gaudeamus Hodie a lively and rhythmic arrangement in total contrast to the first song.

The adjudicator Michael Hancock was most    complementary about all the choirs in the class giving praise and constructive advice on their performances. To the delight of the choir, Jubilate was awarded first place, with distinction, in our class.

On Thursday 26th November, Jubilate Choir helped to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance by performing selections from their upcoming Christmas Concery in a Charity Evening at the Corner Cupboard, Birdforth. With canapés and drinks served during the evening and a Yorkshire Air Ambulance Souvenir stall doing brisk trade, the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. A big "thank you" to Tracey and the girls from the Corner Cupboard for their superb hospitality on the night
